If you’re after a gentle exercise class, then try a session of yoga or mat pilates. Choose these if you have a limited freedom of movement or if you’re looking to supplement an otherwise more strenuous regime. Both use stretching and controlled movements to tone, strengthen and improve flexibility. A session of Tai Chi is very gentle yet still helps joints become more flexible and muscles stronger. These kinds of exercises also improve mental wellbeing, which is just as important as physical wellbeing.

If you really want to put your physical wellbeing to the test, try a session with a personal trainer. The right one will motivate you and guide you to the best you ever. Quicker than you would by exercising off your own back too. A personal trainer will make sure you’re doing each exercise safely and correctly, minimising the chance of injury. Working out at home or on your own can be risky, and if you injure yourself, it could be a long time before you’re able to exercise again. And who wants to go backwards?
