How does a facial make you feel? Pampered and wonderful no doubt. A facial leaves your skin feeling tightened, brightened, younger, smoother and softer. But it isn’t just a cleanse, exfoliate and aromatherapy facial massage we can now expect from our super salons and therapists. We can have all kinds of problem areas treated from age spots to breakouts to fine lines. And the range of treatments available is phenomenal from the vampire facial to channel our inner Kim K to IPL pigmentation treatments
A luxurious facial using high quality products tailored to your skin type is a perfect treat. It helps lymphatic drainage and outbreaks and the products will leave your skin nourished and pampered. You’ll leave so fresh faced that you’ll ditch your base, apply a quick slick of mascara and lipgloss and float on your way!
Microdermabrasion uses microcrystals to remove the top layer of tired, dull skin, revealing a fresh new layer leaving you with The Glow. All the gain, no pain. Tell the truth or tell everyone you drink a lot of water and get lots of sleep, we don’t mind! Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen production, which plumps up the skin, filling in all those fine lines, taking years off you.
A chemical face peel has similar results, using products applied to the skin to remove the top layers of skin. The result is softer, smoother, fresher looking skin. There are different types to choose from and your therapist will guide you. A chemical peel is perfect for anyone looking to help improve blemishes, fine lines, sun damage and hyperpigmentation.
Both treatments feel as luxe and pampering as a regular facial and are the ultimate facial add-ons.
Heard of a vampire facial? This isn’t as scary as it sounds. Officially known as a Platelet Rich Plasma (PLP) facial, it involves a therapist taking some of your blood just like during a blood test. The plasma (liquid part) of the blood is separated and injected back into your face. Plasma is rich in growth factors and is used to plump up the skin, making it look years younger.
Don’t feel left out gents, these facial treatments all apply to you too. Any facial can be tailored to suit male skin and will probably include a little more emphasis on exfoliation. This will help prevent any ingrown hair problems and the effects of shaving that come with having facial hair. Cosmetic tattooing and dermal fillers are also routinely performed on men too, so get booking up today!
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) was originally developed as a laser hair removal treatment. It’s now also used to improve the appearance of age spots, freckles, sun damage and areas of increased pigmentation. These darker areas absorb the light from the laser and break down and discolour, leaving other areas of skin unchanged. It’s not completely pain free, but is likened to a rubber band being flicked onto the skin and is fine for most pain thresholds.
Injectable collagen fillers are used to plump up deep lines and areas that might have started to show signs of aging. Most popular is the lip area, giving a little extra filling to what nature intended. But you can also add volume to sunken cheeks and areas that have started to hollow such as the nose to cheek line. Botox is an anti wrinkle injection used to eliminate lines and wrinkles in the face by relaxing the muscles that cause them. Often used on the forehead, these injections are also effective between and to the sides of the eyes.
Many of our fabulous salons and mobile beauty therapists have talented makeup artists that can expertly apply your makeup for your wedding or other special occasion. Expect them to talk through your skin, what look you’re after and to arrange a trial to make sure you’re 100% happy. Or, arrange a makeup tutorial so you can perfect your look yourself, every day!
If a more permanent approach to makeup is what you’re after, book in for some cosmetic tattooing. From microblading (a tattooing technique used to create the perfect eyebrow using strokes to produce hair like lines) to tattooed on eyeliner and lipliner. It’s the ultimate in fresh faced, get-out-of-bed-and-go fuss free makeup.
