Haven’t you heard? The blow dry is the new lunchtime pedicure. Leave the salon feeling refreshed after a shampoo, massage and blowout. Your hair has never looked so good. Warning: curves ahead.
You could go for soft, straight hair with a lift at the root to suit your elegant, yet versatile style. You could turn up the volume with lots of loose curls for a romantic vibe. Channel your inner Kate Moss or Blake Lively with effortless, messy, beachy waves. If you are tired of your short hair, shake things up. Go super sleek for a modern look or tousle it up with a textured bob. The choices are limitless.
The only problem with the blow out is that you might get addicted. We’re not here to judge. Here is how to get it lasting all week (or at least until your next fix):
Day 1 Girl, you have that body that just won’t quit. We’re talking about your hair. Don’t ruin your hard work by smashing it down on the pillowcase. Put your hair into a silk scarf or tie it with two scrunchies (yes, scrunchies to minimize kinks) into one or two high topknots to maintain movement and volume.
Are you roots starting to drop? You can salvage it with a light hold hair spray on your roots. Save the dry shampoo for Day 3 – it gives your hair a matte texture, which means you’ll lose some of that glossiness.
Dry shampoo time!
You’ve got that bed head vibe going on. Spritz your hair with a bit of water and rough dry your hair. Tousle with a bit of dry shampoo. You’ll get body without the extra weight, crunchiness or product build up.
Embrace your dirty hair with salt spray. It breaks down oil and product residue in your hair, and gives you cool, piece-y separation.
