Perth is full of amazing yoga studios that will help you find your inner peace in no time. Along the way, you may find toned triceps and a tight core. We’ve done all the hard work for you, so all you have to do is click and go.
There are so many different types of yoga, you will find one that suits your fitness goals. Here is our guide to some of the common styles:
Iyengar Yoga It’s all about attention to detail. Iyengar yoga is grounded in alignment. You have to hold each pose longer, which can be physically and mentally challenging. This is great for beginners because you will learn the fundamentals of a good pose.
Ashtanga Yoga This is a more vigorous style of yoga that follows a set sequence of poses. Each pose is held for five breaths.
Vinyasa Yoga This is a good workout, and perfect for those who like variety. No two vinyasa classes are the same. It combines different styles of yoga for a good workout. If you’re just getting started, it would be good to take a slower class such as Iyengar or Hatha to get a feel for the pose.
Bikram If you like to sweat, this one is for you. The class is conducted in a 41 degree room. Move through a sequence of 26 poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. The heat will also facilitate the release of toxins.
Yin Yoga Grounded in the Taoist tradition, each pose in this class is held for anywhere between one and 10 minutes. It can increase flexibility and encourage a feeling of release and letting go. It’s good to release tension in overworked joints for athletes, and for those who need to relax.
Now that you’re convinced, book yourself in for a yoga class today. At Bookwell, we want you to look good and feel even better.
