Oh, the Brazilian. We’re not talking about Giselle or Ronaldo. The Brazilian wax is the best way to get a super soft bikini line. With Brisbane’s many beaches, we understand the importance of keeping it neat down there. Thankfully, you ladies (and gentlemen) have a wide range of waxing salons to choose from – check out our directory. We picked the best salons in Brisbane so your waxing experience is as smooth as possible – literally and figuratively.
Now that you’ve made an appointment, here are some insider secrets for the a (relatively) painless wax and bump-free recovery:
Be prepared. Exfoliate a few days leading up to your appointment. It will slough off the dead skin cells, and make it easier for the wax to grab your hair. Come to your waxing appointment with clean, dry skin.
Timing is everything. The closer you are to your period, the more sensitive your body becomes. Book an appointment the week after your period. After your first appointment, book in monthly. This lets the hair grow out to the optimal removal length.
Beauty does not have to be pain. If you have a low threshold for pain, try popping an ibuprofen beforehand. Numbing creams are generally ineffective. If they are too effective, you may not be able to feel if the wax is too hot. If you’re feeling particularly anxious, have a small glass of wine. Everything in moderation though – alcohol thins the blood.
Avoid the 4S’s. What are the 3S’s? Sun, Steam Room and Sex. The top layers of your skin can be removed during the waxing process. This can make it super sensitive and susceptible to outside bacteria. Avoid sex and steam rooms. You will also be more prone to sunburn.
So lie back, and relax and let them rip (that hair off you). Make an appointment with one of our waxing salons in Brisbane today.
