The perpetual ‘waxing vs shaving’ debate has been around for as long as we can remember. But if you ask us here at Bookwell, there’s really no contest; waxing trumps shaving every time. Why? Results lasts longer, the hair grows back slower, and you’re left with baby soft skin for weeks at a time. Perfect for those sunny Brisbane days.
If you’re new to the art of womanly waxing, here’s what you can expect from a basic bikini wax:
If it’s your first time getting a bikini wax, or you’re trying out a new salon, you’ll have a quick chat with your waxing therapist to establish exactly how much hair you want removed down there.
A bikini wax essentially removes all of the hair outside your bikini line. If you’re after something a bit more involved, you might want to look into a Brazilian. That, friends, is a whole different ball game.
But the best part about a bikini wax is, there’s no need to remove your undies. Yay for dignity! And if you’re feeling self-conscious, then don’t. Your waxing therapist has literally seen it all before, we guarantee it.
Your therapist will begin to apply warm wax to small sections of hair, they'll apply a strip of cloth on top, wait for it to dry, then pull it off in one swift motion. Rinse and repeat.
Now is the time for a bit of mindless small-talk; anything to make the time pass quicker. Ask your waxer about her weekend, or chat about a new Netflix release. They’ll get to work waxing your lady bits and it’ll be over before you know it.
Once your therapist has finished up, they’ll go over the area with tweezers to remove any remaining stray hairs, and apply a nice, soothing lotion or moisturiser. Done! How easy was that?
If you’re looking to book a bikini wax in Brisbane today, look no further than Bookwell.
